I love the first three and this one is no different. You never know what is going to happen or who is going to survive. I could not put this one down. If you haven't read the first three they are a must!! I truly can't wait for the next one.
I have followed the series from day one and each book has drawn me in to the lives of each person as they see the world crumble around them. I really enjoyed Breakdown as it switched each chapter showing different people's fights a long the way. I don't want to give to much detail and give away the story, but I will say that this is a must read book to a wonderful series. Definitely a book that is hard to put down once you begin reading. Keep up the great work Owen Baillie can't wait to begin reading books from your other collections. ~ Deidre
You have done it again Mr. Baille!! What an awesome read!! Could not put the book down once I started reading. I loved the new characters. I think Alesia could be a BA mother. 😉 The three different types of zombies were very cool!! Your writing style always draws your readers right into the story. I feel as if I have actually been to Australia after reading your books. Owen Bailie never disappoints his fans.
This is book four but you can read this without reading the other three BUT you will be missing three fabulous reads!!!! You MUST read the other three just to see what an awesome author Mr Baille is. Also, check out his other books too. You won't be disappointed, I promise 😊
Another excellent story told by Owen Baillie! This is the fourth book in the Invasion of the Dead series but it is also a stand alone story. I hope that the next book in this won't belong in coming out. I love the characters in this book and need to find out what is happening to them I will also be anxious to see how Owen is going to bring the kids from the first three books to meet our new characters. If you just want to read the series starting from this book, you will be ok. But I would suggest reading the first three also. They are a fantastic read or if you like to listen to your books, they are also on audible. Thanks Owen for a great and enjoyable read.
I've heard many reviews of Owen Ballie's book, but chose this as the first to read. Love the story, the action, the characters. Two concerns....not enough emphasis on characters. If I have to put the book down for awhile, for example, I forget who the two character are whose names start with "J.". Second, and this is purely a difference in linguistics, the use of the word "whilst" drove me crazy. Just a little Southern girl here. Still a five star! I don't care for reviewers who let something like that count down on stars. Starting on book two in the series tonight.
The long awaited 4th book in Owen Baillie's Invasion of the Dead series doesn't disappoint! What I really like is that although this is book 4, it doesn't follow on from the first three novels in the series. Breakdown takes us to a different corner of Australia and introduces us to a whole new cast of characters, and the events in this novel pre-date those in first trilogy. For those readers who haven't read one of Baillie's books before, the plus of this is that you don't need to read the first three novels before taking on Breakdown!!
As usual, Owen has fleshed out his characters' personalities well and doesn't shy away from exploring the relationships that exist between those individuals. The characters in Breakdown differ quite markedly from those in the first trilogy of books, in terms of skill sets and background. It makes it interesting to have such a varied cast! I also like that Breakdown offers us some insight into the "beginnings" of this global viral event and the varying effects of it on the population. And in true Baillie style, this novel is fast paced and action packed!
What a great concept! I really enjoyed this story while waiting for our heroes/survivors from the mainland to hopefully arrive in their boat, here we now know that things are not as rosy as we were hoping! The infected are not only numerous but those super zombies are also here and growing in numbers! These new characters are in for a heck of a nasty survival time, several perished before the last page!! Now anxiously awaiting for book 5! To the author, keep up the great work, am an old fart here in the isolated Mojave desert of southern California, whose hobby for over 5 decades had been reading books of all types, the apocalyptic zombie ones are currently my favorites ( due in part by a certain current zombie tv show LOL).
